SQL Server Agent 1.9.4 and agent documentation

The customer-installed SQL Server Agent gains built-in diagnostics, SCD Type 2 history, tier-aware licensing and platform run reporting, with full technical documentation now published under Connectors > Agents.

AgentsSQL Server AgentAloha POS AgentDocs
New
  • Agents documentation section under Connectors, covering the SQL Server Agent from installation through the CLI, plus the Aloha POS Agent. Each agent release now has its own entry on the SQL Server Agent changelog.
  • SQL Server Agent --diagnose: a read-only health check of the host, ODBC drivers, SQL Server, storage, credentials and state store, with JSON output for support.
  • SQL Server Agent scd2 write strategy for Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg targets, with a database-level write_strategy default and per-table overrides.
  • SQL Server Agent runs report start, completion, warning and failure events to the DLH.io platform, and ship redacted run logs to your storage account for remote viewing.
  • Slack, Microsoft Teams, generic webhook and SendGrid email notifications for agent failures, warnings and Trial expiry countdowns.
Improved
  • Schema drift detection and remediation for both Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg tables, with per-column detail in error messages.
  • Platform-issued storage credentials via API key bootstrap, so agents no longer need static storage keys on the host.
  • Startup banner shows the resolved tier (Customer, Trial or Community), license status and DuckDB state-store telemetry on every run.
Fixed
  • Decimal, numeric and money columns are typed from the SQL Server declared precision and scale on first load, so later large values no longer fail the write.
  • Change Tracking batches where a column is entirely NULL now align with the existing target column type instead of failing the merge.
Security
  • Agent executables are built with hardened packaging that resists trivial extraction of application code.
  • Credentials remain encrypted at rest with a host-specific key, and remote logs are scrubbed of secrets before upload.
