Configuration Features in DLH.io

Features for DLH.io data sync and beyond

The DLH platform provides a number of configuration and setup processes for features, notifications, and other administration options that users can utilize for a better experience.

We continually add to this section of our documentation based on new features, connectors, and optionality that make the platform more intuitive for our customers

Areas for Detailed Configuration Instruction

Data Synchronization Features

The features below are possible when using the data connectors to synchronize data from a source to a target destination connection. While the main description might seem intuitive it is a good idea to know exactly what these features provide you workflows:

Custom Data and Development

Where the connector usually has the ability to be extended by the DLH support and technical team, or even a customer as a developer advocate to make unique or one-off updates that benefit the customer's need and other customers as a whole.

Historical Re-Load/Load

Where the connector can capture historical data from the source, and re-load (usually to a point in time) data. This differs from delta or incremental loads.

Incremental/Delta Load

After the initial load or a historical load of data is conducted, each subsequent sync is considered an incremental or 'delta' load.

Column Selection

Where the connector allows for individual columns to be checked or unchecked, meaning brought in or eliminated from the synchronization process. Our recommendation is to ALWAYS bring over all columns, unless there is a unique situation. Don't unnecessarily complicate your workflows if you don't have to do so.

Column Hashing

Where the connector has the ability at a column level to hash columns from the source system prior to reaching the target system.

Re-Sync Table/Entity

Where a connector can at an individual table level re-sync or load the history for just the one table/entity.

Custom Queries

If the connector allows a query to be written against its system for the purposes of sending that data downstream to a target destination. This is not capable for most connectors, and alternatively users should learn about the SQL Data Query connector.

Custom Data

Where the connector allows for custom data integrations or leveraging custom data elements as part of the workflow.

Captures Deleted Rows

If the connector captures legitimate deletes from the source system. This may include soft deletes but is usually referencing Change Data Capture (CDC) or Change Tracking (CT) concepts.

API Sync Bridge Initiation

If the connector allows for the the execution of the Sync Bridge through an API call.

Priority Scheduling

All Sync Bridges have scheduling capabilities. Priority scheduling may have to do with your subscription plan and license for the platform. Please contact support or your customer success manager for help here if needed.

Where the connector is able to to be placed on or reference data directly from your cloud network, usually through a Private Link or other secured means where being on the same network is a requirements. Most systems are cloud based an this is not an issue or a requirement in most cases.

DLH Data Model Available

If DLH has pre-built a data model reprsenting the data from this connector, etc.
