Setup Steps

DLH.io Setup Guide for Fleetio

Connector Pre-Requisites

Connecting to a Fleetio account, you need to make sure that:

  • You have a Fleetio user with read access to the records you want to synchronize (vehicles, fuel, service, issues, inspections, parts and so on). DLH.io sees exactly what that user can see.
  • You have created an API Key for that user. In Fleetio open Settings from the sidebar dropdown, go to the Manage API Keys page and click + Add API Key. Treat the key like a password.
  • You have the Account Token of the Fleetio account to synchronize. It is shown at the bottom of the same Manage API Keys page.
  • Some Fleetio features, such as equipment and purchase orders, depend on your Fleetio plan. Tables for features your plan does not include are created empty and noted in the sync history.

Instructions (Basic Connection Setup)

DLH.io securely connects to your Fleetio account using your API Key and Account Token. This connection is read only and never writes data back to Fleetio.

  1. Enter a Name or Alias for this connection, in the 'Name/Alias' field, that is unique from other connectors.
  2. Enter in the 'Target Schema Prefix' field, a name that will be unique in your target destination where you wish to land the data.
  3. Enter your Fleetio Account Token.
  4. Enter your Fleetio API Key.
  5. Click the Save & Test button to validate the connection. DLH.io will call the Fleetio API with both values and confirm access.

The first synchronization pulls your full Fleetio history. Every later synchronization pulls only the records created or changed since the previous one. Fleetio limits how many API requests an account can make each minute based on your plan, so a large first synchronization may take some time. DLH.io automatically pauses and resumes when the limit is reached.
