DLH.io documentation for Google Reviews

Google Reviews brings the Google Maps presence of your business into your warehouse: the places found for your business name across the United States, their customer reviews, a daily history of each place's rating, and the address components of each place. Marketing and customer experience teams can use it to track ratings and review sentiment by location over time.

Setup Instructions

Follow the setup steps guide for configuring your Google Reviews connection to enable data to flow into your destination via DLH.

Details on Sync Processing

  • Each run searches for your Search Query in every US state, then reads each place found once.
  • Google returns at most the five newest reviews of a place and offers no older reviews and no paging, so reviews accumulate from run to run. A place that receives more than five reviews between two runs loses the extra reviews for good. Schedule the connection daily or more often for busy places. A historical re-sync cannot recover older reviews.
  • Searches also return nearby businesses that match loosely. Use the optional Place Name Contains setting to keep only places whose Google name contains that text.
  • Searches use Google's free ids-only text search. Each place costs one Place Details request with reviews, billed by Google to your Google Cloud project at the Place Details and Atmosphere Data rates.
  • Your API key's project needs both the Places API (New) and the Places API (Legacy) enabled.

Issue Handling

If any issues occur with the connection simply return to the sources page in DLH.io, edit the source details and click the Save & Test button to confirm connectivity. If any issues persist please contact our support team via the DLH.io Support Portal.
