Setup Steps
DLH.io Setup Guide for Lytx
Connector Pre-Requisites
Connecting to Lytx, you need to make sure that:
- You have the Username and Password of a Lytx user. Lytx recommends a user with Full Access at the root group, since DLH.io sees only the groups and data this user can see.
- The user signs in with a password. If your company signs in to Lytx with SSO or multi-factor authentication, ask your Lytx administrator for a user that does not.
- GPS points need a Lytx Fleet Tracking subscription.
Instructions (Basic Connection Setup)
DLH.io connects to the Lytx API over secure channels with the user you provide. This connection is read only and never writes data back to Lytx.
Using the form please complete the following basic steps:
- Enter a Name or Alias for this connection, in the 'Name/Alias' field, that is unique from other connectors.
- Enter in the 'Target Schema Prefix' field, a name that will be unique in your data cloud destination database where you wish to land the data.
- Enter the Lytx Username and Password.
- Optionally set a Historical Start Date. Without one, the first synchronization reads ten years of safety events and driver assignments, the last three years of trips, and the last 60 days of GPS points and geofence activations, which is as far back as Lytx keeps them.
- Click Save & Test to validate the connection.
How Data Is Synchronized
Most tables are read in full on every run, while safety events, trips, driver assignments, geofence activations and GPS points are read incrementally. GPS points are the largest table; uncheck the GPS_POINTS table if you do not need it. See the main overview for details.
