Setup Steps
DLH.io Setup Guide for SharePoint
Connector Pre-Requisites
Connecting to SharePoint, you need to make sure that:
- You have a Microsoft Entra app registration in your own tenant (steps below), giving you a Tenant ID, a Client ID and a Client Secret.
- You have the address of the SharePoint folder to read, copied from the browser address bar, for example
https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/Marketing/Shared Documents/Reports.
Create the Entra app (once per tenant)
- Sign in to entra.microsoft.com as an Application Administrator or higher.
- Go to App registrations, click New registration, enter a name such as DLH.io SharePoint, choose Accounts in this organizational directory only, leave the redirect URI empty and register.
- Copy the Application (client) ID and the Directory (tenant) ID from the Overview page.
- Go to API permissions, click Add a permission, choose Microsoft Graph and then Application permissions. Add Sites.Selected to read only the sites you choose (recommended), or Sites.Read.All to read every site. Click Grant admin consent.
- Go to Certificates & secrets, click New client secret and copy the secret Value at once, it is shown only once. Note its expiry date: a connection stops working when its secret expires.
- Only for Sites.Selected: grant the app read access to the site. Open the site in your browser and add
/_api/site/idto its address to see the site id. In developer.microsoft.com/graph/graph-explorer sign in as a SharePoint administrator, consent to Sites.FullControl.All under Modify permissions, then send a POST tohttps://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/{site id}/permissionswith the body below. Wait about a minute before testing.

DLH.io connects to SharePoint over secure channels using your app. This connection is read only and never writes data back to SharePoint.
Using the form please complete the following basic steps:
- Enter a Name or Alias for this connection, in the Name/Alias field, that is unique from other connectors.
- Enter in the Target Schema Prefix field, a name that will be unique in your target destination where you wish to land the data.
- Enter the Tenant ID, Client ID and Client Secret.
- Enter the Folder URL. Open the folder in SharePoint and copy the address from the browser address bar. Sharing links are not supported. The site, document library and folder are all read from this address. Subfolders are included unless you turn that off (last step).
- Choose the File Type and, optionally, a File Pattern, a regular expression matched against each file path relative to the folder.
- Click Save & Test to validate the connection.
- Optionally, switch Include subfolders off in the SharePoint Folder card on the connection's Configurations tab to read only the files directly in the folder.
